The Biggest Issue in Dallas: Poverty

As the internet starts diversifying, with more ways to earn and make money, the living gap is steadily increasing. As of right now, Dallas has a really big poverty problem, with over 6% of Dallas being unemployed. According to Poverty Issues, a media outlet discussing the poverty problem in Dallas, " a staggering 127,000 people across Dallas, Collin, Rockwall, and southern Denton counties are employed but still live below the poverty line. Taking into consideration that people can still be employed but under the poverty line, our poverty population has grown tremendously between 2000 and 2012, by 41%. I believe that this is a product of inflation, seeing as our economy is on an uptrend, we can still combat this issue. I believe that raising the minimum wage will be the best way to combat this issue temporarily until our economy starts coming back down.
