Throughout the digital age, AI began as a tiny caterpillar that could barely do anything on a computer and flash forward into the future, and education cannot tell the difference between a computer and a student! Written by Laura Tierney, she states that "70% of educators believe the use of AI in assignments constitutes plagiarism, showing how many teachers are worried about how AI might change the way students do their schoolwork." Is the stat true, and if so, how can we remedy it so that both parties will benefit?
Even though AI is very helpful with both teachers and students, it is used for cheating at the end of the day. But the way to fix it has been standing right in front of us, from same article titled "Perspective Statistics snapshot: The intersection of AI use in education and plagiarism" the author claims that showing how to incorprate the two into school life will greatly benefit from students relying on it to cheat on exams. Furthermore, the teacher can learn quite a bit from using AI as it can assist in grading and maintaining a clear schedule in the classroom.
Without knowing the future of AI, we can infer that it will continue to improve past our understanding, and any way to welcome the change and fix the problems falling on us today will greatly improve the future.
