One prediction for Journalism that is quite interesting is the idea that, “The robots will make us more human.” Andrew Golis discussed this in and excerpt from, “There will be silver linings to The Great Robot Spam Flood of 2024.” As Artificial Intelligence (AI) rises, humans will need to adapt to a new dynamic. Given that AI is essentially made of supercomputer databases, humans will inherently stand out as creatives in an increasingly analog world. Golis discusses how journalists, and humans in general will seek “niche communities” and desire to be understood. I think the human experience is a unique and inherently creative thing that AI will struggle to fully replace. Journalists will have the opportunity to become more creative in storytelling and relaying news, using their skills to connect to people on a level that AI cannot, and hopefully will not, be able to reach.
