Fake news can be found almost everywhere on the internet. The new developments in artificial intelligence make it challenging to distinguish what is fiction. This can be tricky for public figures like political candidates. There have been many fake news sites created about our political candidates, which cause the spread of misinformation to the public. This can be dangerous to someone's image. Walid Saad says, "With the advent of AI, it became easier to sift through large amounts of information and create 'believable' stories and articles." The more people engage with these fake news sites, the more misinformation speeds. People should be more aware of the use of AI for fake news. I think these fake news sites use a sense of shock value as a rhetorical device to hook the reader in and make them believe the misinformation.
