Floodwaters Rising? Better Get a Raft!

All throughout the south and Midwest the American people have been suffering under heavy rain and flash floods. Especially those in St. Louis county; who stated that "the damage was a disaster." Within the work, the rhetoric used paints a somber tone. For example, the description of "flooding and downed trees" illustrates a dramatic image that encourages worry within the public. Negative imagery and predicted misfortune appeals to the side of the reader that deems safety and security a priority. Not to mention, words such as "rise" and "soon" convey a sense of urgency within affected individuals to prepare themselves for disaster.
