Branches of the News Tree

While browsing top news centers, I noticed that each had at least 10 different divisions to sort through their articles and news. Each were at the top of their page consisting of categories like news, sports, health, lifestyle, and travel. What really stood out to me was that Fox and CNN's first three were US, World, and Poltics, whereas BBC combined the three into 'news.' These 'branches' could help appeal to the reader's logic and emotion as they are able to easily find what they are looking for or what interests them. Within the branches, each article has a related news tag to further categorize it. Media Markets Meet claims that "tags allow for better analysis." These tags can decribe whether or not an article is free, which branch it belongs to, and help "track performance metrics" (MMM, 2021).
