When looking at how CNN and Fox choose to display their content, specifically on the TikTok app, I've noticed many similarities. Both news outlets choose to use people in their thumbnails, in order to get someone to click and watch. Another interesting thing I noticed was that even the font style of the thumbnails are pretty similar. One difference I did notice is that CNN had created playlists to be displayed on the top of their account and based each playlist on relevant topics, such as "Trump rally shooting," "CNN's presidential debate," and "Trump's criminal trial." The relevance of Trump's name in more than one playlist title makes me wonder if this is simply because there are a lot of current events happening around him, or if they have another reason for highlighting some of the things he's done. But hey, I'm just always a skeptic. In my opinion, Fox News should create playlists similar to how CNN has because this encourages more engagement with videos posted less recently and helps a user find the content their looking for easier, allowing for a better user experience.
