Not being the most financially literate this headline bounced out towards me. I wanted to learn more about the concepts of "bonds" along with being curious about such a large sum of money.
Glancing over the article I was quick to note the praise the author was giving towards Collin County and its fiscal habits. I was thrilled to read that Collin County does a good job maintaining a "substantial operating reserve", which in turn contributes to a positive financial outlook. the article says. Collin County holds a high level of "creditworthiness" due to its stable economic environment and thus has been granted a large bond to my understanding, as the economic opportunity and value are deemed as a long-term investment. The article does a good job of highlighting the important figures and data points to explain what a bond issuance for infrastructure means, with investments toward the roads, bridges, and parks along with other facilities coming very soon.
