It comes as no surprise that the first major regulation towards AI comes from the EU legislators — who are always at the forefront of providing addrssal towards issues of grave nature and of high importance. The European Union members got together to give a unanimously approved legislation towards regulating artificial intelligence. Companies already in existence are given a time period of 36 months to reach a state that is compliant to the brand new EU regulatory legislation. Some believe that the implementation of this Act will serve as the toughest challenge, however the newly created “detailed regulatory regime” is certainly on the right part towards achieving perfectly implemented AI regulations. “The Act follows the formula “the higher the risk, the stricter the rules,” sorting different AI uses according to four risk categories”, is the observation of journalist Masha Borak in one of her articles where she condemns and shows uncertainty in implementation of such regulatory methods.
