Everyday life in war

Polina Lytvynova is a journalist living in Ukraine. Before the war broke out, she used to cover popular events like the Eurovision Song Contest and local scandals, but she never “dreamed of covering war,” especially war in her own country ( Lytvynova, 2024). Her objective in covering the war is to show everyday life and how Ukraine's citizens must continue living their lives. Some of her stronger rhetorical strategies are through the use of photos that show bombed buildings and desolate streets that were reportedly once bustling with people. Through these photos, people can see the devastation that war creates, and hopefully, this can gain enough support to help Ukraine and Russia reach peace.
