Facebook and the Fake News Roulette

We often hear the expression, "Don't believe everything you see on the internet." Unfortunately, many people have been victims of fake news on social media. A good example would be my Mother.. she often believes those Facebook posts that say, "Robert DeNiro dead at 80". Shockingly, according to an article by the Washington Post, "those that share misinformation get a majority — or 68 percent". This shows a trend of people trusting this kind of fake news. The truth is this news will never be avoidable, but a good practice can be to always double-check news articles by using more than one source. Safe and real news is important, so we should all be vigilant as we read online. Safe reading!
