2020 was a bizarre year. From being in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic to watching for the long-awaited Presidential Election between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, 2020 was also a year of massive misinformation. What started as a meme from the ground in a local city was shared across national and international borders, and thus, a headline or striking, falsified image was born. According to Shaydanay Urbani and Nancy Watzman, both some of the smartest women in journalism, the best way to tackle misinformation is from the ground. By tackling wrong information and birthing truth at its roots, we will all be led toward a better-informed society.
