Still not sure how and If I'm doing well on the blogs. To keep the readers updated I still don't know how to write a blog I'm not a 40-year-old woman who got punched in the stomach by a homeless guy eating a pizza with a rat on his shoulder, nor has the government come to my door with coffee and bagels to chat about child labor laws. Anyway, I wanted to talk about gun violence and the misconceptions about it. It is very fascinating how people just regurgitate the same arguments and yet never do any research. America is said to have about 50,000 deaths from gun homicide each year. What the media doesn't tell the reader is that half of those 50,000 are suicides now that doesn't sound bad (yes death is bad I don't want anybody to die) you can even lower the numbers because it sometimes includes gang violence which to some people isn't considered gun violence, just its category. In addition, the most prolific firearm the news media uses the AR15 is not the most common mass shooting weapon it is a handgun that is used the most in "mass shootings" In addition the median age of mass shooters is 32 not 18-year-old adults. Fun fact did you know you are more likely to die from a car accident, and die from drugs than firearms? Not many people knew that. Why does the media hyper-focus on mass shootings than the drug/fentanyl pandemic that takes 100,000 innocent lives each year. My next blog will be possibly asking how many licks does it take to get to the end of a tootsie pop???
