Social media has become an outlet where people catch up on their news. Although grabbing your news from these sites can be a controversial topic, what makes them credible enough that people want to start taking their news from these apps. In the article which talks about the similarities and differences theses to apps have when sharing news. “TikTok news consumers are more likely than those on other platforms to say they get news from influencers and celebrities, with about two-thirds (68%) saying they ever do this. A majority of those who regularly get news on Instagram (59%) say the same.” Both people that use the apps feel like they get their news from influencers. The difference between the apps is the way the algorithms are designed. Before the apps used to cross over on information the difference lies in how much the creator can see.
