After scrolling through The Freedom Forums Today's Front Pages , a trend can be noticed on the front covers. Every eye-catching front page is the most extreme image the author can find on the topic. Whether it be the vulnerable picture of a child walking in the remains of their city after a bombing like seen in this post, or the infamous photo of the twin towers up in flames as seen in Terrorist Attacks of Sept. 11, 2001: Archived Papers. Each photo is meant to catch the attention of the reader. They do so by attaching the photo that is worth a thousand words and they add an attention seeking phrase or statement in humongous letters that cuts across the page. An example being 2016 Brexit Vote Rocks EU: Archived Pages. The front page pictures a woman attending a protest while waving around the United Kingdom flag with the words "Brits Quit" in large letters to the side. This makes a person wonder "What did they quit?" , "what is the woman on the front passionate or angry about?". The photos used in newspapers and articles are a lot of extremely eye catching pictures with large font phrases on the front. These tactics have been a successful way to gain a reader's attention.
