When you’re hungry and in the mood for some food but don’t quite feel like cooking, where do you go? Chick-fil-A? Arby’s? Texas Roadhouse? Maybe even Chili’s? Well according to a 2023 survey on American dining habits, “More than half (57%) of Americans prefer ordering takeout to physically going to a restaurant” (US Foods). Unlike most Americans, Alex Aluga, a sports dad who’s always traveling with his sons, thinks otherwise. Despite loving the convenience of fast food, Aluga believes “the quality and sheer amount of food you get when dining in at a restaurant is unmatched.” This is because of the rising prices for average-sized meals at fast-food chains.

Being someone who travels a lot because of work and basketball, the amount of food you may receive at a sit-in restaurant is a much better deal for similar prices. In his experience at El Ray, a Mexican restaurant in Georgia, he ordered two meals with enough food to feed four for a decent price of $47.03. He claims that if this were Chick-fil-A or Raising Canes the sum would be much much higher. Would you agree?
