After reading over NeimanLab’s “Predictions for Journalism 2024”, there was an entourage of quotes from credible sources inferring what the 2024 year would hold in the era of journalism. In summary of these quotes, journalism today faces a blend of challenges and pathways, crafted into what it currently is through the evolution of technology and shifting audiences. With the rise of AI, journalists have the opportunity to facilitate more in-depth reporting. However, this brings out the ethical concerns about authenticity when AI-generated content comes into play. Therefore, the morals and foundations of these journalists matter now more than ever with a future that looks slightly unknown. As Joe Amditits states within this report, “Journalism grapples with the promise and pitfalls of AI-assisted reporting. It’s the tools plus the perspective, the paradigm, and yes, the power.”
