Kamala Harris Rebrand

As of July 21, Kamala Harris is an official presidential candidate. To attract new voters, her campaign team rebranded her image using public rhetoric. Leveraging the popularity of artist Charlie XCX's latest album "Brat, " they cleverly overlayed "Kamala" to connect with a younger audience as a strategic form of public rhetoric to creatively engage herself with new voters. According to Journalist Caroline Leicht, "... the trend could still be effective for her campaign, as many voters like to imagine politicians' personas in evaluating a candidate to support (Leicht, 2024)." Familiarizing herself with these voters, especially Gen Z, by engaging in meme culture is a precise example of public rhetoric use.
