Today, many young people get their news from social media platforms and not news TV. An article called "More than eight in ten Americans get news from digital devices" by Elisa Shearer shared how "A large majority of Americans get news at least sometimes from digital devices" (Blazina). Many adults and people from the young generation tend to look at their electronic devices to update themselves on new information. During research, they identified that 68% of people still depend on TV news to get information. The study found that 68% of adults get news updates from websites, while 53% like to hop on social media and see news updates there. Social media users can share the news by "having high shares of users who regularly go to the site for news" (Atske). They were also able to compare the age groups and see a pattern. They noticed that people around 18-29 use the "most common digital way they get news is social media" (Atske). Getting news from social media or TV is essential to stay updated on what is happening worldwide!
