Being alone can have many negative and positive impacts. What are people doing about misinformation being posted on social media daily? Fake information can quickly go viral on any type of social media due to people engaging in it. It can easily be spread by "such as 'liking,' also trigger the algorithms of social media platforms to display it to other users" (Buchanan, 2020). If people see something they like, they can easily share it with other people without checking if it is true or not. The other person can do the same thing, and the cycle continues. According to the article, it has been proven that people who get on social media can spread false information rapidly. Also, people are known to believe things they see online, so they share "spontaneous and rapid, rather than being a considered action that people spend time deliberating over" (Buchanan, 2020). That harms people's feeds because they start engaging with it. It's essential to educate people on the effects of sharing misinformation. People should be able to start doing their own research and fact-check information. People can also report the user account if they know what they share is fake. Slowly, the people can stop the spread of misinformation!
