Currently, I live in Frisco, TX. 10 years ago I don’t really believe that held much significance to anyone. Well, anyone outside of the people who were writing down the city as part of their address. I remember the city growing and changing but never grasping what that growth meant, until now.
I chose to investigate the topic of city growth. I’ve heard countless people in the past couple weeks talking about the expansion of, not just frisco, but all of DFW. I interviewed my neighbor, Amanda Strockbine, to gain more insight. She stated how thankful she was to have most everything she needed readily accessible and so close to home. However, she also brought up her loathing for the increase in property taxes. “The world is all give-and-take. you’ll get one thing at the cost of another.” (Strockbine, 2024) The quote from my interview with Amanda uses an example of the anadiplosis rhetorical strategy. This strategy helped put more emphasis on the idea she conveyed.
