Presidential Election vs AI

After scrolling through the ‘Predictions for Journalism 2024’ I noticed a trend, many brought up “The Great Robot Spam Flood of 2024” which made me curious.  Apparently with the introduction of AI many journalists worry over how its use of false information or creation of fake sites hiding as real ones could effect the outcome of the presidential election. The “greedy publishers and malicious propagandists” are the main antagonists, who are “flooding the web with fake or just mediocre AI-generated ‘content.’” They want to gain traction and notice so as the sites gain more clicks they gain ad revenue. Hopefully more American’s lean towards trusted websites that they’ve used in the past to gain the full picture for this election year.
