Progression Opportunities for Journalists.

When you think about Journalism one tends to imagine news channels on the television, articles in magazines, and news papers delivered to your door. Yet with so many of us who use social media, "59.9% of the global population and 92.7% of all internet users", there are several new alternatives that are popping up for Journalists. What I found after reading articles over this topic showed that WhatsApp is just the start to this wave, launching the use of channels in September for publishers to share their news without being blocked by algorithms. While the use is lower in America compared to other countries I found this interesting, I had been using WhatsApp for the past two years to contact my mom when she travels and did not know that they updated the app to keep users informed via trusted publishers. I feel this new app will lead to future progression as well, singling out more information to their users rather then receiving Misinformation or even Disinformation.
