In Alaska the decision to homeschool or send kids to public school is the question as evidenced by the “22,000 Alaska students [that] are enrolled in correspondence programs”. Multiple school districts have been found to wrongly allocate funding meant for public schools given to private schooling organizations. This work challenges our ethics and persuades us to look at how our education system is performing. An argument can be brought up that public and homeschooling are both quality educations, however one can receive government assistance. Not to mention, the court decision emphasizes Governor Mike Dunleavy's long-standing defense of the legislation by framing it as a win. We are further drawn in by the controversial wording that engages the public in discussions concerning policy interpretation and educational finance.
