Every year, Pulitzer Prizes are awarded to some of the best examples of the written word in particular categories. This year, a publication by the name of ProPublica was awarded the Pulitzer for Public Service. According to pulitzer.org, the prize was awarded for "[g]roundbreaking and ambitious reporting that pierced the thick wall of secrecy surrounding the Supreme Court to reveal how a small group of politically influential billionaires wooed justices with lavish gifts and travel, pushing the Court to adopt its first code of conduct." I had not heard of ProPublica before, but I will absolutely be a reader from now on.
