Rhetorical Strategies Used to Fool People

In an article posted by Microsoft Start, it talks about how there is a lot of misinformation being spread about Donald J. Trumps assassination attempt. There was a woman that acted "suspicious" some viral posts said, and a QAnon-related character may have also been involved. The FBI states that "investigation to date indicates the shooter acted alone. others said that the incident was "staged" an unsupported claim that Trump wasn't shot. The rhetorical strategy used here is amplification. In the fake news we see being spread here, the speaker creates an illusion of importance which leads the audience to overlook the lack of evidence.
