The news is something that I was never interested in. I feel like the news lately has been filled with political debates, and people bickering 24/7. However, as a young adult/teenager, I am on multiple social media platforms. Wikipedia states that "unlike traditional news platforms such as newspapers and news shows, social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and WhatsApp, allow people without professional journalistic backgrounds to create news and cover events that news agencies might not cover." I scroll through social media daily and news pops up frequently I seek more of an interest in how the news is displayed on social media. In the article "Social Media as a News Source", it mentions that both Twitter and Facebook in recent years have been the main source of news people have been receiving. I can personally relate to this because I would much rather scroll through social media and read or listen to a short snippet about what is going on in our world. I gained all my knowledge about the news from social media, and I believe this is common for most teens nowadays.
