Solving Food Fraud

Food fraud can happen in many ways, but it usually has one common goal: a drive for gain. Unfortunately, this drive for gain can put people's health in danger. What systems are in place to monitor this? The FDA is a big part of regulating food in the United States. A CNBC broadcast said, "Even they claim it is too much for them to keep track of everything." Since some of it can slip by, what precautions can we use to evaluate our consumption? Authentic products will have more information on the labeling and likely have an expiration date. As for seafood, it's harder to know unless you are a distinguished chef. If you'd like to go down the rabbit hole, you can look at the company that makes each product.
