Spotlight

Spotlight is a movie that heavily inspires me. It is about a team of investigative journalists, trying to uncover sexual abuse within the Roman Catholic Church. SPOILER ALERT, TWIGGER WARNING!

The reason why Spotlight inspires me is because the hidden truth was revealed. The investigative journalists tried interviewing many victims, and many refused. When a priest was interviewed, he admitted to molesting kids. This was then published in their newspaper, and it didn't take long before many victims started calling the newspaper to tell their story. A quote that stayed with me because of this is "If it takes a village to raise a child, it takes a village to abuse one." We don't know what is happening behind the scenes everywhere, and that is why Spotlight inspires me to become a journalist.
