The CNN vs. Fox News Debate

Two of the most influential news outlets in the United States who also concurrently support the biggest opponents in this partisan country. CNN and Fox News support the largest-standing political parties among the American population, but how does the information they present differ? Why do they differ? The Pew Research Center highlights that behind the statistics of each station's approval, "what differs between the cable signature newscasts is tone." How the information is presented is crucial in the digestion of the audience and really determines their trust in a station. Additionally, journalist Jacob Gamble further notes how Fox News "is heavily opinionated," starring shows and segments with commenters who illustrate such opinions. CNN, in addition to other moderate to liberal networks, "presents more sensationalistic content", headlining major events for days and commentary throughout. There is no right or wrong to this networking debate, the polarization of political parties in the United States is really the only answer. Each news outlet utilizes methods of persuasion and appeal presented in differing manners to appeal to their side of the political mob. "Media consumers will choose to receive information from sources aligning with their ideology". Maintaining an open mind and skeptically consuming information from a multitude of sources is the best way to ensure the information consumed is the most accurate.
