A popular meme circulating online a few years back highlighted this issue, pointing out that while schools teach about the mitochondria being the powerhouse of the cell, they neglect to educate students on practical matters such as taxes, buying a house, managing credit, or securing employment. This raises concerns about the relevance of the subjects being taught in schools and the lack of preparation for the challenges of adult life. This could affect many learners from experiencing many opportunities by missing out on what could be valuable such as career exploration, and building marketable skills.
