While the news channel ACN is not a real channel the majority of the stories throughout the show are. It entails a news group who wants to ""do the news well" in the face of numerous obstacles" portraying topics such as 9/11, Tory Davis, the Presidential election of 2012, and the Occupy Wall Street movement. The main cast wishes to fight against corporate greed in order to protect their future, in fear that if they only show what will give high ratings it won't push the view to make decisions or have all the information they need. If you're looking for how this show expresses rhetoric look at their very first episode as an example, Will provides a powerful speech expressing his true feelings how America is not the greatest country anymore but it could be. If you have not watched it here's the clip. Will wants the next generation to be as informed as he once was, even understanding that he was part of the problem and wanted to be the solution to it. If you are looking for an entertaining dramatized way to understand journalism in a newsroom I highly suggest this show.
