The Pharmaceutical Industry: friend or foe?

The pharmaceutical industry is one of the fastest growing, and highest profiting industries in the world today. Pharmaceutical companies are selling more drugs now than they ever have before, with a net worth for the whole industry reaching a whopping 1.4 trillion dollars. It is no question that they are serving one of the unhealthiest populations to date, but it wasn’t until the last few decades that the health of American’s began to decline. Why is this? Between the obvious chemical compounds found in our food that are illegal outside of the United States, and the continuous planting of male trees that make us sick instead of producing fruit, it is only normal to raise an eyebrow at the deterioration of health amongst Americans and the simultaneous growth of the pharmaceutical industry.
