Election year, 2024. While candidates argue about their handicap in golf, federal security fails to prevent assassination attempts, and legislation gets ready to pass a new bill, journalists are rushing to their stations, waiting for the shot to go off to start typing up a storm. Gabe Schneider from Neiman Lab Predictions for 2024 predicts there will be an investment made in journalism in 2024. Schneider calls for a change when he states "“If one newspaper is not enough in a county of a few hundred people, a handful of newspapers is unacceptable in a county of almost 10 million.” Schneider continues to elaborate how few newspapers are being distributed and even "...more than 200 counties — containing 70 million people — live without a newspaper." Although there are few distributers, journalists from well known companies to no name authors are going to be taking advantage of the scarcity of journalism to put their feed out. Because there are limited sources to hear from, in 2024 there is going to be a surplus of articles due to it being an election year.
