It is up to the people to choose what to believe or not to believe, but what factor can unknowingly change that belief? An article by Joshua Benton on Nieman Lab brings together various articles on which sources people are more likely to believe and surprisingly, “we tend to trust close ties more than weak ties, but weak ties are sources of new information more often than strong ones.” People more often believe information from people they don’t know as well as others. This brings forward more opportunities for people to be tricked on the internet by false news articles or other people on things that aren’t as well known.
