I typed "fake news" into my search engine, and first thing that popped up was a site called "AP News." AP stands for Associated Press and they are an American not-for-profit news agency. Their goal is to check out popular news and sift the fake out from the real. After clicking into their webpage to learn more, the first article that grabs my attention is titled, "NOT REAL NEWS: A look at what didn't happen this week." I get excited by the use of mockery and click to read more. In this article, AP News goes through popular news posts that are completely untrue, although they were widely shared on social media. In their articles they start with the claim that the fake news made, and then they follow up with the facts. I had never heard of this news agency and i love the witty articles jabbing on news agencies and the wild things people will believe as truth on the internet, and I think they are doing a great service for people to be able to have a place to go to know what is actually happening in the world.
