What are Journalist Doing Around the World

Johnathan Watts wrote an article titled Across the world, journalists are under threat for sharing the truth, which talks about journalists being under a lot of pressure to write about what is going on but also going against what journalists are supposed to talk about. With what is going on in different countries, staying silent seems to be more comfortable than writing about the truth of what is going on. “Last year saw 99 killings of reporters, up 44% in 2022 and the highest toll since 2015.” which was stated by Watts which is really scary to and concerning. He goes on to talk about how no war other than Gaza had reportedly killed so many reporters. Many went over in hopes of exposing the truth about Gaza and exposing what the news wasn't fully telling the 

masses. Only to end up not coming back to their families, which is the sad part. When speaking about it to my family and friends it was interesting to hear what they thought about reporters sacrificing their lives to tell us the truth about what is going on in Gaza. Many of my friends thought that it was not worth it to put your life in danger for the truth. They thought it was admirable that someone would do that for the truth. It is a very sad thought.
