Vacationing, touring, and traveling seem to be the ultimate goal for those who want to see a once-in-a-lifetime view. Remembering past trips brings back so many precious memories with friends, family, or a loved one. The value of an item, or view, significantly increases the more unavailable it is. Places like the mountains, the beach, or amusement parks spill out cherished memories for those who have seen them. Or maybe experiences like skiing, hiking, or playing sports stamp an imprint that lasts a lifetime. But what is equally rare are the millions of people who brush past our shoulders daily. Like Mahatma Gandhi once said, “The future depends on what we do in the present.” Stop at the store and consider that you may never see the people around you again for the rest of your life. You may not view them as valuable as mountains or beaches but do not be so closed-minded. Someone may have the eyes to see the value in the mountains, but search for the eyes to see the value in the lives around you. There is no one quite like another. We are all unique and different in our own special ways. Do not forget that you are equally as rare and, therefore, equally as valuable as other people and places you love.
