The world advertises infinite products sure to ‘guarantee your happiness.’ It is the companies' job to convince customers that they are not happy unless they buy 'this’ product. Whether the selling point is convenience, experience, or importance, the product ‘will complete the customer’s life.’ People tend to focus on their immediate survival needs or wants that they miss an essential quality of life. C.S. Lewis captures the thing that makes life worth living, “Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art... It has no survival value; rather, it is one of those things that give value to survival.” One must not forget to value the people that make life worth living.
