Delving into the Nieman Lab Predictions 2024, I landed on a prediction from David Cohn (https://www.niemanlab.org/2023/12/i-got-99-predictions-but-ai-aint-one/) who believed that where 2023 for the year of figuring out the idea of generative AI, 2024 would be its execution, then instead of focusing on how AI could potentially assist or damage the journalism industry, Cohn opted instead to focus on predictions of the industry, working around any possible advancements in AI.

Cohn compiles bulleted lists that focus on Organizing Principles, Audience Engagement, social media, the Political Environment, Collaborative Efforts, Editing, Technology without AI, Business and Content. Through each of these topics, Cohn has gone into detail about each element that effects journalism, but also some of its more independent issues. But, more importantly his predictions discuss the opportunity of combating against generative AI in the industry, and how writers and journalists can keep up with the technological competition.
