Big and BOLD

I have spent some time looking at several magazine covers and the front pages of newspapers specially to see what they have in common and the strategies that are used to draw interest. I noticed that most of them have big and bright covers. The covers a few things in common, several big and large photos or lots of one large photo with massive text with a very blunt phrase or word. Then there was the occasional cover with a large photo and a bit of text surrounding it. I learned that the strategy behind just using one large photo is so that it can catch the eye of people who look at it briefly and then they want to come back and look at it further as it intrigues them. I most often saw this happen on covers regarding reality TV shows or celebrities which was interesting. I feel as though that draws people's attention and if they see a celebrity they have heard of they will be interested in the story behind the large photo(s) or to keep up with a show they watch.
