The Future of Journalism


We are able to obtain news because of professional journalists who take their time to research and produce factual information to present to their audience. However, in 2019, there was an estimate of about 8,000 media jobs lost. Both new and seasoned journalists have been laid off from their jobs. Most people have just decided to leave altogether and start working freelance. A lot of articles are written by collaborating with local newsrooms. It's easier for journalists to partner up with local newsrooms to spread information to a wide audience. Rachel claimed that journalists will continue to lose their jobs and they will probably have to settle for taking jobs without "security or benefits," or they'll have to "try and make a living as freelancers," which isn't very simple.
