Bringing Justice as a Journalist

Sometimes amazing journalist Christine Pelisek reports the latest updates on crime stories, and other times, she brings justice to the criminals. In 2006, Pelisek learned about a series of murders that seemed related and she started on her journey. Through four years of hard work, interviews, and cooperation with the police force, Christine was able to help put the serial killer known as the "Grim Sleeper" behind bars. While I was reading her article "My Hunt for the Grim Sleeper: Reporter Christine Pelisek Uncovers Shocking Case | PEOPLE.com" I was completely engulfed by the details and I found myself eager to know more about this case.

In Christine's article it is evident that she is not trying to persuade you. The point of her journalism is to share her experience and inform the general public of both the danger they are in, and the impact we can have on it when we persevere. In this particular piece Pelisek wrote "There were a lot of strange twists along the way until the LAPD, using cutting edge DNA technology, apprehended Lonnie Franklin Jr. In May, as his victims' family members looked on, he was convicted of the murders of 10 women and the attempted murder of another". This quote is Christine's way of emphasizing the impact her work made on her community. Overall, Christine Pelisek's story as an investigator and a writer should be shared.
