After reading Claire Wardle's article about misinformation and disinformation, I learnt more about the differences and similarities they have. Disinformation is intentionally dishonest and causing harm while on the other hand misinformation can often be a mistake. According to this article disinformation, "is motivated by three distinct factors: to make money; to have political influence, either foreign or domestic; or to cause trouble for the sake of it." Now let's dive in deeper into how people are trying to stop bad information from circulating. By warning people about false information, it can help stop bad information from spreading. People check their sources and a few ways to stop it is knowing your algorithm and thinking before sharing anything if there are any doubts.
