When it comes to disinformation, it can come in many factors, political, clout, or even little minor things; such as suppression or easing the public about certain things. However, how serious can it be? Well, it is subjective since if you are wanting to suppress or even lie to the public, then it gives a bad view of whoever is addressing it since the media can expose so many things. For example, " The Kremlin creates and spreads disinformation in an attempt to confuse and overwhelm people about Russia’s real actions in Ukraine, Georgia, and elsewhere in Europe."www.state.gov With that example in mind, it can create so much discomfort and loss of trust within the government since they are basically lying to the public.
