News is like any other business in the current world. There are many different news outlets that are competing for your attention. Some of them are even gunning for your support and influence. While looking at different news papers over the span of a few days, I began to notice that a lot of them use a large bold text for the subject matter in an attempt to grab the readers eye.
The Dallas Morning News front page on June 14th, 20022 read “Advisors told Trump he was wrong”. This is an excellent way to grab the attention of anyone that wasn’t particularly favorable to the previous President. While The Houston Chronicle read “Out of touch with reality”, with a subtest under reading “Barr calls Trump delusional”. This is another great example of how keeping the test bold and vague enough to entice the reader. Noam Chomsky once said “He who controls the media controls the minds of the public”. A scary thought, but one that we nee to remember while reading catchy headlines.
