During the previous election in 2020 there was a handful of fake news that effected the candidates and the election itself too. Recently there has been fake news surrounding Brazil's election, so in order for the election to be fair, Brazil made "eights of the largest social media platforms" to sign an agreement for the "Superior Electoral Court (TSE)" in order to stop the "spread of fake news that may be detrimental to the upcoming elections in October". The fact that "Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, WhatsApp, Google, Instagram, YouTube and Kwai have all signed individual agreements with each platform", to think about how much fake news does float around all day long is crazy to think that just for the election these eight platforms will make sure no fake news is going around. I believe that If the U.S. enforced this agreement like Brazil had the media that is large, then it will help the U.S. with fake news surrounding election and even just in general.
