Fake news is on nearly every social media site. Some are worse than others, but Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Tiktok are full of people who purposely spread false information. Nobody really even knows why these people do it. I mean, is it really "just to get more followers and likes?" Here are some ways to avoid the trap of fake news.
First, simply stop looking at social media for all of your news. This is where all of the lies come from. Instead, check trusted news websites or government sites. Next, check who wrote the article you are reading. Are they qualified to be writing about such news? And last, before sharing posts on facebook or instagram made by someone else, make sure it is factual information. This will not only help you, but will stop the spread of fake news.
