Fire Emergency Coverage (June 16th)

This story was posted on social media by the agency NBC News earlier today:

The Twitter upload stated: "Baltimore police are investigating a possible hate crime after a Pride flag was set on fire across the street from two fires which burned four homes."

This story was posted on social media by the agency Fox News earlier today:

The Twitter upload stated: "Firefighters rescue dog trapped for 20 minutes in partially submerged vehicle".

I found that both stories about firefighters and emergency services appeared considerably interesting. They both seem presented in compelling ways. In terms of NBC News, the fact that a criminal so casually burned down several places is quite scary, especially if he or she did it out of extremism. in terms of Fox News, the fact that the poor dog was trapped for over fifteen minutes in a submerging car sets up a really dramatic picture. The social media post looked as if it had pictures from a visually striking movie. Both stories show firefighters being vital parts of communities.
