These two front page publications share a similar style, but very different layouts. The first one from The Daily News-Miner, has less pictures, and far more text going more in depth in a smaller amount of topics. The second publication from Times Daily is more eye-catching with 3 times as many pictures, far more topics, and serves more as an attention grabber than actual information to the reader. The layout in the second one has a column of pictures on the left side giving graphics to several minor or continuing topics, while the first page has a column of text over one subject. Overall, they serve different purposes, and wished to distinguish the details that stood out to me.
